Indirectly: Time spent watching tv is time away from memory-enhancing activities such as reading, doing crosswords/sudoku/word finders, free smartphone memory apps, playing words with friends, etc... Watching tv is a passive activity; the brain needs to be exercised as much if not more than other body parts. If you don't use it, you lose it! thus watching less tv and doing more active mental exercise is best!
