How long should a cortisone injection last for someone with trochanteric bursitis?

It depend: Cortisone injection suppose to take care of the bursitis, if it come back that time we may give another shot and if continue to happen we may think of doing surgery to take out surgically.

See details: Hopefully, a single injection should resolve the problem. However, tenderness in this area can occur in conjunction with low back pain. If it does then a local injection will not help.
