Hope so but R/O CVA: The incidence of peri operative cva after bypass is thought to be 1-2%. It could occur due to embolic debris from the heart/aorta as well as due to BP fluctuations (which might cause intracerebral ischemia). These symptoms could also occur without stroke--such as in a reaction to meds/oxygenation. Discuss your observations with his health care team.

Possibly: The worry is stroke with persistent deficit. Some tias, some local tongue or voice box trauma, medications can confuse, but the slow and slurred suggests stroke. Ct or MRI may be ordered to clarify.
