A member asked:

Can i take something with my oxycontin so that i don't feel like throwing up all the time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, however: If an opioid is prescribed for an acute event with a fixed time-course i will generally add a nausea medication. If the opioid is prescribed for chronic pain i would decrease the dose until tolerated. If the lowest dose still causes problems i would switch medications. Over time opioid induced nausea, itching, and sedation tend to decrease.
