Is it safe to use toothache medicine after getting wisdom tooth pulled?

Wrong : Why should you need toothache medicine after an extration? If you have post-oper- ative pain contact the dentist who will prescribe what you need, analgesic or antibiotic. Stop being your own dentist.

Probably: That would depend on what medication you are using. I would take the medication prescribed by your dentist or oral surgeon. Over-the-counter medication might also be okay, but i would avoid Aspirin or Naproxen because they can promote bleeding.

Pain meds: Follow the instructions given at the time of the extraction. You can take ibuprophen 600mg for pain. If you have severe painor swelling call the extracting dentist. I would not use a topical medication.

Ask Surgeon: Your oral surgeon or dentist should have prescribed a pain miller, possibly an antibiotic, and possibly an anti-inflammatory. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen, taken according to package directions, should be ok. Do not use salves, drops, creams, or any topical preparation.
