Tylenol, (acetaminophen) teeth ring: I find that a frozen teething ring is very soothing. Rub his gums with a clean finger. If baby doesn't find relief, try a dose of acetominophen. Remember, teething does not cause fever. If your baby has a fever, you should see the doctor.

Cold: Refrigerated teething gel bars that they can suck on will temporarily numb the discomfort.

Palliative Care: First try to give your child palliative measures such as a teething ring or frozen wash cloths. For severe teething pain give your child the appropriate amount of children's tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin. I do not recommend topical anesthetics for teething, they only last for about 10 minutes. Remember that teething may come with some discomfort... Sometimes all you can is provide loving support.

Try: Oral topical anesthetics are usually ineffective. If needed use baby Motrin or tylenol (acetaminophen). You can also try chilling a pacifier or teething ring.
