That is the hope...: Colon cancer is probably the best example of cancer screening actually saves lives. Early detection and treatment--surgical resection along with chemo/radiation can help increase chance of success/cure and reduce recurrences. Being 30, colon cancer is not that common, but should have discussion with your doc about possible screening if there is family history or if u have symptoms. Good luck.

In select patients: Chemotherapy is recommended for patients whose lymph nodes are involved with cancer, and is also advisable in select patients who are node-negative, but have other concerning features, including T4 tumors. In these situations, chemotherapy is likely to reduce the risk of recurrence. Radiation is not typically used in the treatment of colon cancer.
