Exagerrated reflex: Coughing is a reflex initiated by a message to the brain from the bronchus. If it is initiated too easily you can cough unnecessarily. Commonest cause? High calorie malnutrition, particularly sugar etc. Strange but true!

Treat: Green sputum means immune cells got involved with your infection. Now the mucous is being produced as part of inflammation. The cough is to bring up this junk. You now prob have reactive airway disease cuz your lungs think they need to keep producing sputum. They don't. Get an xray, you may need a short blast of steroids and an inhaler. Get it chked out.
