You'll have : General anesthesia. These are typically done laparoscopically, but if it will be open, you might also ask for an epidural for post op pain relief.

G.A..: General anesthesia with muscle relaxation (and often a thoracic epidural for intra-operative and postoperative pain control). This procedure is undertaken for infection, large renal stones, tumor or transplant donation. Because large "volume shifts" may occur during surgery, special monitoring (arterial and central venous pressure) may be required.

General Anesthesia: Nephrectomy requires general anesthesia. It will be done with an "epidural" in addition to the general - or general anesthesia alone. Sometimes the kidney is removed with "ports" and "cameras" and not a full open surgery. The surgeon should tell you which one you are having.

Anesthesia: Easy...General anesthesia. That's pretty much it. Have them add epidural for pain control after surgery

General: Fir these operations the best choice is general anesthesia. This can be supplemented with an epidural to provide pain relief after the operation.
