Depends on fracture: Healing time depends on severity and location--how much cracking or separation of the bone ends there is and where in the scaphoid ( distal, waist or proximal pole). Non displaced fractures with a barely visible crack can heal in 6-8 wks in cast. More displaced ones can take 10-12 wks and some never heal without surgery. Depends: Depends on where the fracture is on the scaphoid. If it is near the thumb, 6-8 weeks. If it is in the middle 8-10 weeks. If it is near the wrist then 12-16 weeks.
