No. : Cholestrol can be a component of asteroid hyalosis. It is thought to be unrelated to circulating cholesterol levels. So eye floaters are not directly influenced by high cholesterol.

No: Floaters occur when the vitreous gel that fills the eye pulls away from the back part of the eye. The "gel's" protein strands become visible causing the floaters. A condition called asteroid hyalosis has calcium deposits in the vitreous that can contribute to floaters. In the majority of patients asteroid hyalosis is not even noticeable.
