See below: Talc is an impure mineral whereas cornstarch is complex sugarfrom corn kernels. Both are used on skin as a drying agent. Concern has been raised about talc in that it may cause lung problems if inhaled and may slightly increase risk of ovarian cancer in women who use it to prevent recurrent yeast infections.
