ADDRESS CAUSES: First try and determine the cause. Many prescription meds can cause dry mouth and a person taking multiple meds can experience a severely dry mouth. Sometimes the problem is within the salivary glands themselves such as a stone blocking a main duct or autoimmune diseases like sjogrens syndrome can cause dry mouth. You can also try otc saliva substitutes. Products made by biotene can help as well.

No treatment: The symptoms can sometimes be controlled by medications, rinses, gels, lozenges, and gum. All these need to be sugar free and i would suggest xylotol because it helps kill bacteria that causes many of the problems with the teeth and gums.
