Probably Not: Unless the cause for costochondritis was chest trauma, infection, or some other confounding or metabolic condition, there should be little concern for how anesthesia might affect you. Because the concerns behind your question should be addressed more specifically, i'd suggest speaking directly to your anesthesiology care provider for a more in-depth consultation.

No: My guess is that you may have idiopathic costochondritis--tenderness over the chest cartilage. Hopefull this will go away but as far as anesthesia is concerned, it should have no affect on it.

No: The anesthesia will have no effect on the disease. However, positioning and padding will make the procedure less painful. Talk to your anesthesiologist about your condition before the surgery.
