Take NSAID medicatio: Studies have shown that if you take an NSAID med before oral surgery, post operative pain is minimized. If you can take these meds then i would suggest 800 mg of Ibuprofen about 30 minutes prior to your surgery appointment.

Talk to your dentist: Each mouth is different, but one thing for sure, you want to get your gum tissues as healthy as possible so that you heal as well as possible.
