Depends: It depends on how long ago you had your braces off. During the first 6 months after finishing treatment, the teeth are still a tiny bit loose from treatment so it's important to wear your retainer pretty much full time to prevent them from shifting. After 6 month, it's usually not bad to leave them out during the daytime and wear them at night. Check with your orthodontist for their advice.

Ask your dentist: Orthodontic retention is needed to maintain teeth that have been moved by braces. Each patient may require more retention than others. Most patients wear their retainers at night.

Depends: Teeth are very individual. Some like to stay put while others require daily reminding by your retainer. We encourage you to error on the safe side and wear them more as opposed to less.

Depends: Immediately after your braces are removed your retainer should be worn 24/7 for about 1 month. Then 12 hours per day for about 3 months. Then sleep time forever. When you stop wearing your retainers, your teeth eventually shift.

Depends : Depends when your braces have been removed, if it has not been a year out, then you should not have them out more than 2 hours per 24 hours. If you have been finished with treatment more than a year, you should wear them nightly forever. Please always check with your orthodontist.

Depends: We ask our patients to wear their retainers 24/7 for a full year, then at night when sleeping after that. Go looking for reasons to put retainers in, not excuses to take them out. The less they are worn, the greater the risk of needing pretreatment.
