A member asked:

Does removing a parament retainer remove any enamel? i believe my orthodontics used a diamond-coated bur to remove the cement. should i be concerned?

The adhesive most likely was removed with a polishing bur which does not harm the enamel. If you believe there is an issue, ask your orthodontist directly.

There should be no removal of enamel when an orthodontic bracket is removed from a tooth. A drill is used to remove only the bonding cement. Then that surface should be polished smooth.
