24 hours: For a simple extraction, swelling usually resolves within 24 hours or less. If the extraction was complicated or infected, it may take a few days longer.

One week : In general it takes one to two days for the swelling from the trauma from the extraction but if the wisdom tooth was slightly inflamed before the exit. It can take a week to go down with antibiotics taken from the first day if swelling persists after a week it might be a good idea to visit your dentist for further treatment options.
