No: Streptococcal septicemia can occur in a patient with alcoholic cardiomyopathy but the cardiomyopathy is not the cause. There are many causes of streptococcal septicemia and many different species of streptococcus.

Sepsis: Streptococcal septicemia should not be induced from alcohol induced cardiomyopathy. The alcohol problem is more likely to set up the infection by means of aspiration altered swallowing pneumonia.
