Likely allergic rxn.: You are most likely sensitive or allergic to the insect bites. Most allergic reactions to insect bites remain localized to the area bitten. They are characterized by swelling of the bite and itching of the area. If you are bitten, i would recommend either an antihistamine (oral) or a topical cortisone cream.
