A member asked:

Can a dentist have the license to pull teeth without informing the patient the effects of the extraction?

Sort of: I would say what you described is not the best way to do it. As a patient, whether it is dentistry or any other medical procedure, never let anyone start the treatment until you understand what is going to happen and also the possible complications. In most procedures the complications are very low, but in some situations they may be unavoidable and you need to be prepared.

Yes: Dentist do have a license to pull teeth. Most dentist will offer a consent and should discuss the potential risk.
