Pain relievers: Interesting question. The other medications used for pain besides ultram are mostly nsaids and narcotics. Nsaids are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and include Aspirin and Ibuprofen and Celebrex (celecoxib) as examples. Narcotics similar in strength to tramadol would include hydrocodone and oxycodone and codeine. All of these medications can have GI side effects.

Not aware of any: Tramadol (ultram) is a unique combination of opioid receptor agonists and antagonist. Depending on the type of allergy you have, you might want to try a weal oral opioid such as hydrocodone or codeine. Both have more sedation and nausea vomiting associated with them. A stronger non-steroidal antiinflammatory may also help them.

Nucynt: Nucynta (tapentadol) has opioid properties combined with central acting effects as well. Similar to tramadol but stronger, like a percocet.
