Maybe but it depends: Check out https://online.Epocrates.Com/noframe/showpage.Do?Method=drugs&monographid=463 for info re Buspirone (buspar) which is used to help deal w/anxiety. However everyone is different in what s/he responds to and what dose s/he needs.

Maybe: Not usually, however everyone is different. Often times we will titrate the medication slowly as some individuals can become dizzy or nauseated as they start the medication. Speak with the prescribing physician to minimize the likelihood of any adverse effects. Good luck.

Not likely.: Buspar (buspirone) may or may not effectively treat your anxiety, but it is not likely to increase anxiety. It may however take a bit of time to acclimate to any new med. We generally "start low, and go slow" in introducing meds and adjusting dosages. This helps minimize any adjustment issues. But, Buspar (buspirone) is certainly not one of the psychoactive meds likely to cause anxiety.
