Not acute anxiolytic: Buspirone (buspar) isn't fda approved to use for acutely changing symptoms of anxiety. There are other classes of meds for that purpose but this is not one of them. Dose increases usually recommended every 3-4 days but then, should be leveled out and then, changed only with your doctor's approval. You may need a slightly higher dose to get to therapeutic levels by work with your prescriber.
