See dentist: Make an appointment with a dentist who sees patients with TMJ disorder. You may not have it, but if you grind your teeth, a bite guard may help prevent damage.

You Can't: The habit of teeth grinding is permanently ingrained in your brainstem. It's part of who you are. In periods of low stress, the habit is less pronounced, but it doesn't go away. There are several oral appliances which can minimize the damage that this habit can cause. In extreme cases, medications can help, but they have lots of side-effects. See your dentist and get a nightguard to start.
