Dr. Sy Le answered

Egg retrieval: First, IV meds are given to induce deep sedation for 20 minutes. Under ultrasound guidance, a long needle is inserted through the upper vaginal wall and into the pelvis. The needle is then guided to the follicles and their contents are aspirated. The embryologist is present to identify the eggs. The patient then wakes up and rests for 30 min before walking out of the clinic on her own.
