It depend on cuase: Back could result from many causes, if you visit your family doctor he could tell what the cause and based on that we could decide what kind doctor you want see. Orthopedic surgeon manage back pain originated from the bone and disc problems.

Back specialists: Back pain is very common. The primary care provider may be able to help. If unable the conservative care from an osteopathic physician or chiropractic physiatrist may be beneficial. Physical medicine specialists also specialize in spine care. For surgical care a neurosurgery or orthopedic spine specialist are the option.
