Call your dentist: If you call your dentist and explain what is happening, they should be able to do or prescribe something to help.

See your dentist: Pain from an abscessed tooth can be so severe that no medication will help. It is very important to see your dentist asap to have your tooth treated.

See dentist: See your dentist for continued treatment. See the root canal specialist - the endodontist for expert care. Tell them about your symptoms. Remember, however, that the abscessed tooth took a long time to develop, and may take a long time to improve. Can be hard to reduce /eliminate the infection.

See the dentist: The abscessed tooth will either require a root canal or may need to be extracted. Start treatment asap and your pain should significantly resolve.

Abscess: Treatment is the only way to resolve the problem. Abx will lower dosage of infection but without removing the source it will only return or get worse. Depending on the type of abscess you may need a root canal, periodontal surgery or even extraction. See your dentist and remember to finish your abx. Also it sometimes takes a few day for abx to kick in and may even feel worse initially.
