A member asked:

Can having sharp pain in the leg be related to back pain?

Yes: Yes, low back pain that radiates down the leg could be from an irritated lumbar nerve root. This is called sciatica or radiculopathy and the irritation usually comes from a bad disc or arthritic changes that compress the nerve. The distribution of pain depends on which nerve is irritated. See your md if this pain lasts greater than 2 weeks.

Yes it is possible: The nerve in the back travel to the leg up to the toes.
