A member asked:

If both parents are nearsighted, will their children also have myopia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: Often one can be fine or have only a little nearsightedness when both parents are near sighted, but most near sightedness is heretary--my parents were both far sighted and I am also, but my brother is near sighted as are some aunts and uncles.
