Red bump.: Generally speaking, a tick bite will cause a red itchy bump, sometimes with hive-like swelling around it. But if a red ring develops around it, see your doctor or a dermatologist right away, as this could be indicative of lyme disease.

Tick bite: It looks like an insect bite. If there are lyme spirochetes in the tick, and they are injected into your skin, it will take on the appearance of a pink/red flat to slightly elevated widening lesion, akin to a bull's eye. See picture.
