What can be done for turf burns?

Cover the Burn: Artificial turf burns are brutal because it is a rug burn to the "n-th" degree. A silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) compound with zinc to help heal the injury while covering it to avoid future incidence. Usually these injuries are self-limiting and your skin adjusts to the repeated insults by a process known as keratinization and lichenification. As my coaches used to say; "don't worry, you and your skin are tough!".

If blister is intact: If blister is intact leave alone as long as the liquid is clear. If blister is not intact you can wash the area with saline and apply silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) cream along with a non-adhesive dressing to encourage healing and prevent infection.
