Mouth sores: Possibly a blistering disease such as lichen planus, pemphigus, or infection such as herpes simplex should be considered. Stress can trigger canker sores or cold sores. See your doctor or dermatologist.

Possible apthae: Apthous ulcers may be what you have. They sometimes start clear and get painful. Cortisone rinses are helpful, but require a prescription and a visit to the dentist to rule out other things.
