Fever: You are most likely having fever which can be due to several reasons ranging from flu, throat infection or some other underlying medical problem. Try taking advil (ibuprofen) and see if things get better. It might be a good idea to call your pcp.

See below: Sounds like a fever. Is neck just sore or also stiff? Any sore throat, sinus pain/pressure, headache? Have you been immunized against meningitis? Use cool cloths to cool head; NSAID (aleve/advil/motrin/etc) or tylenol (acetaminophen) for fever & pain. See pcp soon to be evaluated & treated or, if neck is stiff & fever high, go to er.
