Pain with pressure!: Sesamoid (or seed bones) are bones at the base (two) of your great toes, at the mcp joints or your second and fifth digits, and your knee caps. Sesampoid bones exist to protect tendons from extrem pressure. So pain where they are is the chief symptom. Sesamoid bones are also invovlved in arthritis, most specifically spondylitis, so if seen, it could be rheumatic as well as traumatic!
