What should the blood clots look like following a tooth extraction?

Shouldn't see one.: You really shouldn't see a blood clot, at least you hope there is one in the hole where the tooth was. Other clots from general bleedingmight just be larger globs of blood. But as far as that hole...You hope the clot stays in the hole. This is what we think avoids a dry socket and the problems that follow along with them.

Jelly: The socket should be full of a maroon colored mass that has the consistency of jelly.
