Until treatment: Tretment for a few days is enough but this disease is not severely contagious.

Dr. James Ferguson answered
46 years experience Pediatrics
Depends on variables: Oral secretions will be contagious for a week to 10 days while the virus can still be present in the stool for 6 weeks. Normal hygienic practices will prevent spread among susceptible adults. Treatment is supportive & does not affect the duration of infectiousness.
