IVF vs Surgery: Most people will need surgery (tubal anastomosis) or in vitro fertilization (ivf) in order to conceive after having tied the tubes. If you do conceive without surgery or ivf you have a high risk for a tubal or ectopic pregnancy, which can be dangerous. Please see a reproductive endocrinologist for expert advice on conceiving if your tubes are tied.

Try surgery: The changes for the tubal ligation to open by themselves is very low and umpredictable. The surgery to repair the tubes will increase the odds ( 10% possibilities to achieve pregnancy). Talk to an infertility gyn surgeon.

Try IVF best!: Your tubes cannot get patent (untied) on their own. Tubal surgery would be one option, however it is not as good, or cost-effective as in vitro fertilization (ivf). Take Folic Acid 1-5 mg daily and seek care with a reputable ivf center in your area. Success rates per center are published annually online by federal mandate at: http://www.Sart.Org/ best of luck!
