What does it mean when your toe falls asleep ?

There is either: Pressure on a nerve not allowing it to function properly, or the nerves themselves are being altered and not functioning properly. So that there is either an extrinsic or intrinsic pathology taking place.

Nerve pressure: You probably had pressure on the nerve and it became compressed causing your toe to feel like it went to sleep.
