My foot swells up its the left one and when i first walk on it it really hurts after i walk for awhile it eases up a bit its is painful sometimes it will shoot up my leg what could this be it is not broken?

Plantar fasciitis: Could be plantar fasciitis; a painful condition of the feet which presents classically as pain with the first step of the day which then improves with walking. Evaluation by a podiatrist could help rule out other possibilities.
