Diet? : Pale stools, especially gray in color, can often be a sign of liver disease. The yellow color suggests the presence of bile which would mean your liver is functioning normally. I suspect the lighter color of your stool is more related to diet. Certainly if you have diarrhea this is a different story and you should see your doctor for further evaluation.

Low amounts of bile: Color of stool is determined by a number of things. Certain infections and medicines can cause the stool to be green or pale yellow. Bile adds color to the stool as it passes from the gallbladder to the intestines. It is likely just a temporary change, and you should see the normal brown color return within a few days.
