Many options: Start by making sure your diet is healthy and that you have a normal stool every day. For treatment, you can find a cream such as preparation h over the counter, or witch hazel pads. Soaking in a very warm bath is also helpful. See your doctor if the pain becomes intense.

Get off the john: 1. Keep hydrated, plenty of water, it will help avoid hard stool 2. Fiber such as citrucel or metamucil every day. 3. Do not sit for more than 5 to 10 minutes at a time on the toilet and avoid straining. 4. Use otc meds such as prep h.
