A member asked:

Why can't people with asthma take theraflu?

They can: Many over-the-counter cold and flu medications contain antihistamines. We used to believe that asthmatics should avoid antihistamines but this is no longer true. Use caution when taking any multi-ingredient cough/cold/flu medications; especially if taking other medications. It is easy to take too much of common ingredients like acetaminophen. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

See Below: There is no contraindication. Certainly, it will not help wheezing or shortness of breath.

They can. : Theraflu has an antihistamine. There is an age old concern that antihistamines could dry and thicken secretions. This has since been not found to be a significant concern. Unfortunately, it takes an act of god to take a warning off a package insert.
