A member asked:

Does vimpat (lacosamide) and lamictal used for complex partial seizures can cause blackouts after 5 months of use?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Potent agents: Lamictal is a preferred drug for those who specialize in epilepsy, and vimpat, (lacosamide) a terrific add-on med with a good side effect profile. Not sure what you mean by "black-out", whether loss of consciousness or vision. Neither drug causes this, and there is no drug-drug interaction here. Maybe you are having more seizures or even migraine events. Talk to your neurologist about this.
