Depends on cause: Usually this condition develops as a result of underlying heart or lung disease, as well as other conditions (kidney disease, pneumonia, cancer) the most important thing is to determine the underlying cause.

Depends: If the fluid is in the lungs, it is usually treated with medications such as furosemide. If it is around the lungs, draining it may help. Good luck!
