Yes: Kidney stones are a common source of blood in the urine, called hematuria. This blood can either be blood one sees, called "gross" hematuria, or blood only detected on microscopic examination of the urine. Any gross blood in the urine warrants prompt evaluation, and persistent microscopic hematuria needs to be worked up as well.
