Narcotic alternative: Depending on the cause of pain and whether the pain is acute or chronic, there are many alternatives to narcotics: none steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (such as motrin), anti convulsants, nerve blocks, steroid injections, spinal cord stimulators. Depending on the nature and cause of your pain, your physician will be able to recommend an alternative.
