Not recommended: This plant seed is a typical centuries-old herbal remedy which evokes some minor palliative effects, but has not been studied with regard to safety and efficacy. It can be used daily for chronic constipation, but higher doses are toxic and are likely to worsen liver or kidney disease.

Perhaps it's safe: There are as many "miracle remedies" or supplements or natural herbs as there are gullible people who want to sample their marvelous properties. Some may even be marginally effective if they are not poisonous. But if something really worked, don't you think major pharmaceutical companies would spend scads of $$ and research to isolate and purify the active ingredient to sell billions? Beware!
