A member asked:

Did my 1st beta hcg 186 31/10 then my second 6/11 now at 3895 . what does this big increase mean ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably normal: The rule of thumb is that HCG levels will double every 2 to 3 days. More rapid increases are not unusual in a normal healthy pregnancy so I do not consider this a negative. The chance of a twin pregnancy is slightly increased, and it is always useful to get a transvaginal sonogram (ultrasound) early in the pregnancy to confirm dates and viability.
