Infertility: Dr. Rehman is likely right, secondary infertility is a clinical diagnosis. You need to ask your doctor why he won't help, others cannot tell you this. Often the problem is not the doctor, but the insurance who may have rules or restrictions on coverage. Ask your doctor: if it's an insurance issue, he might help you work it out. If the doctor is the problem, get a new one.

UK vs. US system: I've been away from british medicine for 15 yrs so i'm no expert. Your choices may be: 1. Ask your gp for a referral 2. See an obstetrician on the nhs - try to find a consultant in your area who has a clinical interest in fertility if you can 3. See a uk fertility clinic on the nhs or as a private patient 4. Go to the usa. Check out the "for patients" section of http://www.Hfea.Gov.Uk/ for info.
